Welcome to High Desert Shooting Sports Foundation!
The High Desert Shooting Sports Foundation, a public benefit non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation was organized to allow Redmond Rod & Gun Club to receive tax deductible donations who support the building of the new facilities for the Club. The public benefit purposes of HDSSF are to preserve and promote the shooting heritage of the High Desert of Central Oregon, educate the general public about the safe handling and use of firearms, offer a safe and supervised location to shoot firearms as an alternative to shooting on public lands, and a location for youth to be educated in the safe handling and use of firearms.
The High Desert Shooting Sports Foundation will continue the tradition of Redmond Rod & Gun Club in encouraging local law enforcement officers to use the shooting ranges for furthering their education and proficiency in various tactical situations. Youth activities are very important to HDSSF and currently several youth groups use the ranges for shooting-related youth groups such as Boy Scouts, NRA Youth Hunter Education Challenge program, 4H groups, and Oregon Department of Wildlife Hunter's Education programs.
In order to promote public education regarding the safe use of firearms, HDSSF will offer a two-hour class on the basic safe handling and use of firearms. The class will be taught by a NRA certified volunteer instructor or law enforcement officer and will be offered free of charge to anyone in the community who wishes to be educated in the safe handling and use of firearms.
High Desert Shooting Sports Foundation is built on a strong shooting heritage and is dedicated to educating all members of the community, whatever their knowledge, skill and comfort level, in the safe handling and use of firearms.
